School Production of The Wizard of Oz is a hit!
After a run of three nights at the Churchill Theatre last week, staff and pupils are catching their breath after their amazing production of The Wizard of Oz. The production starred pupils from the Junior (J4 upwards) and Senior School and it was a real team effort, with many departments across the School involved in making costumes and painting scenery during their lunch hours.
The audiences were definitely wowed! Since the production ended last week, we have received many glowing reviews about it, including the following:
"... I do feel that you must be so proud of the staff and pupils as they all gave so much pleasure to the audience. Great credit must go to the teaching staff: they certainly know how to communicate with the girls and how to get the very best from their talent. The Music department also did valiantly, so much hard work and practise must have gone on to produce such an expert level of orchestration. My congratulations to all concerned" Letter to Mrs McGhee from a member of the audience.
"I would just like to express how much we enjoyed the recent school production of The Wizard of Oz show at the Churchill Theatre last week. It was a fabulous show and we were very impressed by the professionalism of the whole production. We realise how much work the Drama, Music, Art and other departments must have put into the show but it really paid off. The whole cast were true stars and it seems unfair to single out any for special mention however we have to mention that we thought 'Dorothy' was fabulous - she had obviously studied Judy Garland closely. Please pass on our 'Congratulations' to all" Letter to Mrs McGhee from a Junior Parent
